The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, has commended the Federal Ministry of Education for the successful deployment of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System, describing it as a major step forward in the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
Speaking at the official Go-Live Launch of the ECM System at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, Mrs. Walson-Jack praised the Ministry’s commitment to efficiency, innovation, and technology-driven service delivery. She noted that the initiative places the Ministry among the leading government institutions embracing modern administrative tools to improve workflow and transparency.

“This milestone demonstrates the Ministry’s forward-thinking approach and firm commitment to the Federal Government’s digitalisation policy,” Walson-Jack stated. “I urge other Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments to emulate this example and ensure full compliance with the ongoing digital transformation before the December 2025 deadline.”
The HCSF commended the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, and the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, for their visionary leadership in repositioning the Ministry as a model of innovation and modernization within the Federal Civil Service.

She reiterated that the deployment of the ECM system aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises a digitally enabled, transparent, and citizen-centred public service.
Walson-Jack explained that the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) remains committed to providing technical support, capacity building, and oversight to all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure full implementation of the ECM system nationwide.
“The adoption of ECM will enhance workflow efficiency, strengthen institutional memory, and improve records management across government institutions,” she added. “It will also support evidence-based policymaking and foster greater accountability.”

In his keynote address, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa expressed appreciation to the HCSF for her steadfast leadership and support for ongoing Civil Service reforms. He described the ECM launch as “a long-awaited transformation that ushers in a new era of efficiency, accountability, and innovation in public sector management.”
“For decades, public institutions relied on manual, paper-based systems that often caused delays and duplication,” the Minister said. “This new digital platform aligns perfectly with the Federal Government’s vision of modern governance and sustainable development.”

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, lauded the Head of Service for her leadership in driving the reform agenda and praised the Minister for his commitment to digitizing the Ministry’s operations.
The event marks another major milestone in Nigeria’s public service transformation, reinforcing the Federal Government’s determination to achieve a fully digital and paperless civil service by the end of 2025.
