The 43rd edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) has officially commenced in Rivers State, with the event tagged “SIMplified Rivers 2024.”
Dr. George Nwaeke, the Head of Service of Rivers State and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), welcomed participants during a press briefing on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
He expressed the state’s readiness to host an unforgettable event, emphasizing the commitment of Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara to the games’ success.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Host, Dr. Nwaeke said, “His Excellency has provided all the necessary logistics to ensure this year’s FEPSGA Games surpass previous editions, leveraging Rivers State’s rich history in hosting such events.”
He further highlighted the governor’s enthusiasm for using sports as a tool to promote unity and recognize the invaluable contributions of public servants to national development.
The LOC Chairman reassured participants of the state’s preparedness, noting that the event would showcase Rivers State’s cultural heritage, sportsmanship, and hospitality.
“This year’s games are not just about competition but also about fostering camaraderie and celebrating the spirit of public service. We encourage all participants to enjoy their stay and experience the best of Rivers State,” he added.
The FEPSGA Games, which bring together public servants from across the country, aim to enhance teamwork, unity, and the physical well-being of participants while celebrating their roles in nation-building.
